The 85m-long infinity pool is lined with palm trees and teak day beds. Down by the beach, there’s a gently curving wooden boardwalk for strolling or cycling.
The outstanding Oberoi Spa, made up of several small buildings connected by open-air walkways, offers Turkish hammam rituals, Ayurveda treatments and facials from Spanish brand Alqvimia. It also offers a 24-hour fitness centre with a jogging track. Best of all, the location within 247 acres of protected grounds gives an opportunity to explore Ajman’s surprisingly vast mangrove territory; home to pink flamingos along with 58 other species of bird, on a cruise, walking or kayaking tour.
There are two main restaurants, each with a bar for pre-dinner cocktails, and a poolside lounge offering tapas and light snacks. Dining is generally healthy and delicious.
