A haven of peace and quiet but with buzzing nightlife and quintessential waterside dining on the doorstep.

One of the best 5 star hotels on the island, the Westin Dragonara Resort is situated on a quiet 74,000-square-metre private peninsula, between bustling, upscale St Julian’s and hedonistic Paceville. It has lovely sea views, fantastic service and excellent food. The hotel has two private beach lidos, each with a swimming pool, sunbathing deck, children’s pool and direct access to the sea.

The hotel offers a private shoreline. Admittedly most is rocky with direct Mediterranean access but there is also a little patch of sandy cove ideal for children to go paddling. Incidentally, the whole of the Westin’s coastline has been award Blue Flag status.

The spacious, air-conditioned accommodation features a terrace with views of the sea and includes minibar, tea/coffee maker, and LCD TV with satellite channels.

The hotel provides an extensive menu of watersports from diving to paragliding. The 24/7 Dragonara Casino, though independently owned, is also within the hotel estate.

The Westin Dragonara Resort presents guests with five indoor and outdoor dining outlets to choose from, ranging from delicious home-baked pizza and pasta at Palio’s Restaurant, to exquisite fresh fish at Quadro Restaurant. All restaurants offer a healthy range of Eat Well options. These include SuperFoodsRX dished in the breakfast and a’la carte menus. There is also the seasonal Boathouse Lounge, Wine & Tapas, housed in the original 19th-century builders yard.

There’s an exciting range of activities and features including the Dragonara Casino, two freshwater outdoor pools and one indoor, air conditioned gym with CV, aerobics studio, sauna and steam room, aerobics, aqua aerobics, basketball, pilates, table tennis and yoga.

There’s also a small spa.
