Enchanting, romantic beach hideaway beside ancient rainforest filled with sleepy lagoons, crashing waterfalls and exotic wildlife.

The serene Sarojin Khao Lak is a stunning beach property designed in a contemporary Asian style on the quiet west coast of Thailand, just outside Khao Lak and one hour north of Phuket Airport but light years from the wild party excesses. The feel is quintessential Thai, albeit the most upscale version of it. It’s an enchanting place with peaceful lotus ponds and lovely mature gardens where the sound of birdsong echos through the greenery. Oversized four-poster daybeds billowing with white fabric are scattered around the large turquoise infinity pool and wooden pathways lead to the beach and the spa. It’s particularly beautiful at night when hundreds of lights twinkle the way to the guestrooms. The private dinner options are something truly magical. A romantic candlelit dinner next to a jungle waterfall or on a private sand isle; a gourmet picnic breakfast on a secluded white sand beach; or a private dinner in a pool island pavilion. They even boast the ultimate indulgence with a sail on the Lady Sarojin private yacht, to then “shipwreck” on a secluded sand isle where dinner under the stars awaits. Blissful.

Facilities

Blissful, indulgent treats in a setting that simply couldn’t be any more romantic.

Dining here is an unforgettable experience. Ingredients are fresh, chefs are passionate and tables are set in extraordinary locations. Ficus Restaurant and Wine Bar does Mediterranean cuisine beneath the canopy of an ancient Ficus tree and The Edge is seaside and offers organic signature Thai delicacies. There’s also a beach bar, plus a striking infinity pool, an excellent spa and lush tropical gardens that open out to a seven-mile-long sandy beach.

A vast number of watersports are offered but for divers, Similan and Surin islands are less than an hour away by boat, and the jungle delights of Khao Sok National Park are the same time by car. Khao Lak itself has little going for it, apart from the harrowing Tsunami Museum and authentic Bang Niang Market
