From the phenomenal ‘anti-chain’ group Aman, Amanruya is calm sophistication, perched on a quiet hillside on the northern side of the Bodrum peninsula.

Aman is one of the few hotel groups that frequent guests get fiercely competitive about, agitatedly asking one another: “How many have you stayed at?” before rushing off to book another stay at what is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most. And here, 15 minutes but light years away from bustling Bodrum, Amanruya is another, endlessly beautiful, triumph. Designed as a reimagining of a traditional Ottoman village with a Mediterranean twist, this collection of 30 pavilions and six suites is an ultimate getaway. From the spiral-staircase threaded watchtower-cum-library, down past the glassy 50-metre infinity pool, to the long, quiet pebble beach with its Beach Club terraces on which sun loungers overlook a jetty and an offshore swimming pontoon, this is heaven reimagined. Dine on expertly prepared Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine on one of the smattering of dining pavilions scattered across the resort; each with a focus on locally grown, organic produce including olive oil that is pressed in nearby villages. Amanruya’s small Turkish spa offers healing therapies for rest and rejuvenation.

Facilities

Upmarket, indulgent offerings to compliment the serene surroundings.

At the heart of the resort is a vast Olympic size marble-lined infinity pool but as the ones in every private pavilion are so sizeable and less overlooked, it’s mostly used for laps. Access to the sea is via a pebbly beach but Amanruya’s breathtaking own beach club (Aman, rather than Ibiza style) that’s the real draw on the shore. Quiet, luxurious and with free water sports on offer, it’s very easy to while away the days.

Fitness and yoga studios, fabulous Aman Spa and tennis court plus a three storey library await those able to drag themselves away.

Classic Turkish and Mediterranean fare is superb, served in the outdoor pavilion ‘eateries, or in the comfort of the private homes. Turkey’s wide variety of microclimates results in an array of ever-changing fresh seasonal produce. Several bars are dotted around the resort too.

The hotel can organise the usual outings, from boat trips to historical tours.

Accommodation

Live life in the absolute lap of Ottoman luxury and seclusion.

Designed to welcome and soothe, and rather reminiscent of a Roman emperor’s palatial and very private abode, each of the 36 private pavilions and suites is surrounded by a pretty garden where sumptuous daybeds gather around a sizeable pool. Indoors, rooms carved almost entirely from white Turkish marble and local stone, complemented by dark acajou wood, offer cool accommodation during the heat of the summer months.
Four-poster bed draped in fluttering linen, handmade ‘kilim’ rugs from Istanbul, WiFi, TV, DVD, sound system, safe, Nespresso machine and a personal bar are in the bedrooms whilst freestanding bathtubs, rain showers, a double sink and top-of-the-range bath products adorn the bathroom.

Our room types available are:

  • Pool Suite
  • Pool Pavilion Garden View
