Your Journey

Day One - Arrival & welcome

On arrival you will be met by a representative at the airport who will transfer you to your hotel. Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel is a timeless and authentic resort hotel located in the heart of Cape Town.

Day Two - Private Full Day Walk To Freedom Tour

The day commences with a look at the picturesque “Bo-Kaap”. Discover the unique culture, lifestyle and personality during a walk through the area. Continue to Zonnebloem, originally District Six, and visit the living museum. Depart the city area and head to the Cape Flats, where a stop will be made in Langa Township’s Gugu S’Thebe Arts & Cultural Centre. Embark on a walking tour with a local registered guide providing the opportunity to be exposed to the community and lifestyle of Langa. Depart to Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for a brief lunch stop prior to your trip to Robben Island. The excursion includes a return ferry trip across the bay, a guided coach tour of the island and a tour of the maximum-security prison where late former president, Nelson Mandela, was incarcerated.

Day Three - Private Full Day Cape Point Tour, including Seal Island & Funicular

Travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. Embark on a Seal Island Boat trip from the harbour. Continue via Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breath-taking coastal drives, to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point which is perceived to be the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Ride the Cape Point funicular to the lighthouse and enjoy the views from this vantage point. Go on to historic Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach.  End the day with a visit to the well-known Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

Day Four - Day At Leisure

Enjoy a day at leisure or explore many of the recommended sights & activities offered in Cape Town. Visit the V&A Waterfront South Africa’s most visited destination, take a trip up Table Mountain, cook up a storm on the Bo-Kaap Cooking Tour or view Cape Town from the sky on a helicopter ride.

Day Five - Travel to Franschhoek

Check out from your hotel, you will be transferred to the next hotel Mont Rochelle Hotel & Vineyard. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day Six - Private Full Day Winelands Tour

Head off to the heart of South Africa’s wine industry. Explore Stellenbosch and walk down the canal-lined avenues. Travel over the Helshoogte Pass to the town of Franschhoek, historically dating back to the 17th century when the French Huguenots arrived. Billed as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, this charming town, in a most picturesque valley, retains a French Huguenot style. Enjoy a wine tasting before taking time to enjoy the fabled culinary skills of the Franschhoek chefs at one of the many award-winning restaurants. Onward to Paarl, one of the Cape’s first farming districts. Return to the bustle of city life in the early evening after an enthralling day in the countryside.

Day Seven - Travel to Thornybush Game Reserve

Check out from your hotel. You will be transferred to Cape Town International Airport, for your onward scheduled flight to Hoedspruit. Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport you will be transferred to the Thornybush Game Reserve. The afternoon will be at leisure or you can enjoy some of the scheduled activities offered at the lodge.

Day Ten - Departure

Check out from the lodge. You will be collected and transferred to the Hoedspruit Airport, for your onward flight back home.
