Surrender to the relaxing local culture, visit World Heritage sights and stay in our favourite hand-picked hotels. During your stay at each hotel, you will be greeted with exceptional service and uncompromised luxury.
Once you land at Bandaranaike International Airport, your chauffeur will be waiting. Your private transfer will take you to Negombo, a coastal town renowned for fresh seafood. After you check into your hotel, relax before a seafood dinner overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Early in the morning, we journey to the Negombo Fish market. Witness traditional auctions and fish drying techniques at one of the largest markets in the country. For breakfast, we feast at a local eatery to taste “Lunu Miris”, a local favourite, with fresh coconut. Afterwards, we head to Kandy and stop en route at the Mawanella spice garden for a live-cooking lesson and lunch.
After a morning visit to the Kandy Central Market with an expert chef, prepare authentic dishes at a local’s home with fresh ingredients. After indulging in a delicious lunch, it’s time to marvel at the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a Buddhist temple built in 1592 holding a lost tooth of Gautama Buddha.
Once breakfast is over, we depart for Dambulla – but en route, we stop for an authentic village tour to immerse ourselves in local village life: cart rides, canoe trips and a delicious local meal in the lush countryside. Finally, after a day of exploration and unforgettable experiences, we check into a five-star resort to unwind before tomorrow’s excursions.
This morning, we begin with an early climb of Sigirya Lion Rock, an imposing 200-metre-high fortress with breathtaking panoramic views of Sri Lanka’s rolling hills and vegetation. Now it’s time for a well-earned breakfast. Afterwards, we embark on a Habarana street food walk in the afternoon, indulging in local delicacies, such as prawn fritters and kottu roti (chopped roti with a meat curry dish).
We start early as we begin our 5-hour drive to Galle, Sri Lanka’s coastal gem. To break up the journey, we make an incredible stop at Galle’s cinnamon plantation. Thought you knew everything about warm spice? Learn what the true masters have to say. On arrival in Galle Fort, experience the magic of colonial fusion plates and savour the fresh flavours for an evening of culinary delights.
After a slow start to the morning, we head to the Galle market to purchase fresh produce, from seafood to fruit and vegetables. Next, we head to a beach house kitchen for a Southern-style cooking class. Will you make fish curry with coconut or Lenu Dehi (lime pickle)? Finally, we close the tour with relaxation: Stroll around Galle Fort at your leisure or unwind with a cocktail and watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean.
Once you finish breakfast and check out of The Heritage Hotel, proceed to Bandaranaike International Airport. En route, why not stop for one final bite of curd and honey or a fresh coconut?
