Authentic Arabian-Moorish Palace combined with the princely Moroccan passion of thoroughbred Arabian horse breeding.

Driven by one man's passion and love for the beauty of Arabian horses, the Selman is a sprawling terracotta Palace turned hotel set in vast grounds, with stunning, majestic steeds roaming around inside vast paddocks.

The resort offers rooms with French designer flair, a palm-tree-lined Olympic-size swimming pool and Arabian horse shows with 16 purebred horses. No expense has been spared in adorning this decadent destination hotel with skillfully crafted Moroccan trappings turning it into a palatial hotel a sultan would be proud of.

The opulent, designer stud stables are independent from the rest of the hotel, and have a private collection of Arabian horses, including 10 purebreds. Prize acclaimed horses will roam freely in spacious paddocks, purely for aesthetic pleasure although the hotel does offer trekking rides.

There are three superb restaurants, each with its own culinary identity: authentic Moroccan cuisine, international cuisine and Mediterranean cuisine. During Ramadan, the hotel offers a traditional Moroccan Ftour in an idyllic Arabian Nights setting in the presence of their Arab thoroughbreds and cradled by local live music.

Upmarket offerings - even the stables are designer.

The property is most definitely horse themed with breakfast at the stables which have been lavishly designed by Jacques Garcia or an exclusive breakfast while watching a presentation of Arabian thoroughbreds being two of the more unique offerings. Private guided visits to the collection of purebred Arabian horses at the stables can be arranged for the hotel guests, pony carriage tours for the kids and an equestrian art show available on request.

The cavernous Le Selman restaurant serves globally influenced dishes; The Pavilion serves lighter Mediterranean fare in a Mousharabi-screen-shaded area of the garden, and Assyl offers Ottoman-style opulence with traditional Moroccan cuisine. The beautiful dark purple drapes and seating of the Selman Bar is particularly inviting and the Pool Bar is open daily for thirst quenching delights.

Quad bike tours through the nearby desert landscape are offered, as well as golf at Championship standard courses including nearby Tony Jacklin and Argan course. Cool off at three pools with the 80m outdoor infinity pool being particularly inviting.

The Spa by Espace Vitalité Chenot is spread over 1200 square metres and offers innovative treatments.
