Seclusion, exclusivity and style at the most northerly tip of the Koh Samui, serenaded by glorious views of Koh Phangan.

Occupying an enviable spot at the northeast tip of Koh Samui, just 5 minutes from Big Buddha and the glorious Plai Laem Temples, Six Senses Koh Samui, is an upscale, ocean-hugging hideaway in which to indulge body and soul.

There are 66 split level villas built from local wood and bamboo, with stepped terraces, infinity pools in all but 8, and an abundance of tropical foliage to ensure privacy. They are all caressed by nature and birdsong, creating a sense of exotic escape with all the creature comforts afforded by a luxury 5-star resort.

Six Senses Samui serves some of the best food on the island and fusion fare
served at the evening-only, (sadly non-exclusive) Dining on the Rocks restaurant, with its 270 degree views, is exceptional. Dining on the Hill is the more laid-back alternative, with a hearty menu of Thai and international dishes and equally lovely views from its terrace.

Amidst its leafy confines, the hotel has a sensational infinity pool and a pampering spa plus a host of sporting and cultural options including extensive watersports, cookery lessons and weekly films under the stars. The service is swift and polite and all suites come with a personal butler.

The resort also has a commendable sustainability programme.

A myriad of experiences available to truly engage with Thai lifestyle and culture.

At Six Senses Samui, there are a superb array of experiences offered by the ‘Guest Experience Maker’ in order to truly appreciate the location – Land based, ocean excursions including scuba and ‘live like a local’ themed. Or simply head off for the half hour walk to the renowned Wats of the headland.

A bamboo-lined wooden walkway leads to a huge aquamarine infinity pool with a row of ocean-view day-beds and vast white parasols. The tranquil spa is tucked away in the gardens, where Zen-calm therapists deliver muscle-tenderising massages to a lapping sea soundtrack. Tai Chi, yoga, Pilates and aqua aerobics is also offered.

The gastronomic journey of Dining On The Rocks is a true standout. Perched on a rocky outcrop, with a 270-degrees of tropical ocean splendour view, the fare is superb culinary creativity, offering plates of recognisable Thai tastes but with very clever twists. Many of the fresh ingredients are sourced from their very own eco farm, which is based at the resort. The bar at Dining on the Hill is stylish and relaxed with a chill-out vibe.

Like a honeytrap for romantic escapes.

Flower-lined wooden walkways lead to 66 lovely villas, the majority of which have private pools and beautiful ocean views. As it’s impossible to compete with nature, it’s all distressed woods and sun-bleached bamboo, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Bathtubs are sunken, showers are outdoors, and netted beds are cloud- soft.

Natural light floods in, opening up views from almost every point in the villa. Infinity edged private swimming pools in most of the villas blend into the horizon and help maintain a feeling of seclusion, even though all of the Six Senses Samui facilities are close at hand.

TV, DVD/CD player, PHILIPS Bluetooth Sound Bar, free WiFi, minibar, fridge and butler are as standard.
