The resort of One&Only Reethi Rah is 55 minutes by luxury yacht from Malé Airport (or 45 minutes by mere speedboat). It’s a highly unusual octopus-shaped island, albeit more than 60% reclaimed, so the guests are spoiled with 12 pristine beaches in one the largest islands in the North Male Atoll. With over 6km of coastline, each beach villa is guaranteed privacy whilst still maintaining glorious sea views. The water villas spread across multiple jetties, protruding from all corners of the island have private decks overlooking the azure waters of the lagoon. In all, there are just 128 abodes.

As you’d expect from One&Only, the resort has superb leisure facilities. The National Geographic dive centre offers a range of scuba and there’s also snorkelling excursions, fishing, jet-skiing and parasailing. Yoga, tai chi and pilates classes are offered, and there is a fully equipped gym with personal trainers. The kid’s club takes children from 4 years old and older children and teens have a dedicated One Tribe. Two pools – a large freeform one that cuts into the ocean and a lap pool – plus the blissful One&Only ESPA sanctuary inspired by nature. Not forgetting two championship-grade tennis courts, the Maldives’ first ever sun spa, artists’ studio, the Maldives’ first ever climbing wall, golf simulator and did we mention those 12 fabulous beaches?

One&Only Reethi Rah has 90 Beach Villas secluded by lush tropical greenery, and 32 Water Villas perched above the clear, inviting waters of the lagoon. Each lavish villa is detached, expansive and utterly luxurious, with rustic thatched roofs contrasting the decadence of the interiors. All villas have vaulted ceilings and are meticulously crafted in wood and natural stone with sand-white fabrics, elegant furniture and sunken baths. Outdoor space is plentiful and the premier villas also have private pools.
The Grand Sunset Residence, with its private beach, outdoor cinema and choice of pools, offers the maximum level of exclusivity.
