The seventh floor Living Room bar is a decadent, vibrant bar, where specialty cocktails are whipped up using house-made infusions like habanero vermouth alongside occasional DJs. Izi is a restaurant within a restaurant – the 26-seat izakaya hidden away inside the Blue Fin sushi restaurant, which has a curated list of sake and boutique Japanese whiskeys as well as an inventive menu. Los Caminos is a rustic Mexican restaurant with a mezcal and margarita bar on the street level and private dining upstairs. A small FIT gym is open 24/7.
“Style Lab”, a secretive shopping pitstop, offers guests a carefully curated selection of distinctive clothing, travel gear, and gifts from local and emerging designers.
The hotel’s cheesy room designations (“WOW”, “Wonderful”, “Marvelous”, “Cool Corner”) don’t fully represent the playful, modern design that gives this W a stylish, contemporary feel. Each large (by NYC standards) room has birds-eye views of the city from the large glass windows and features hot pink accents against a palette of grey and white, bold art prints, and a few nice touches – like local microbrews in the mini-bars and floaty, feather beds sheathed in 350-thread-count linens.
