Next, we trek to Baker’s Falls, named after Sir Samuel Baker, a British explorer. After a mighty but glorious trek, it’s time to rest. Relax at your hotel before visiting a tea boutique, a museum and dinner.
Today, you witness the beautiful, rugged Sri Lankan landscape on one of the world’s most scenic train journeys. Embrace the island’s natural charm as you wind through rolling hills and tea farms. On Arrival in Ella, a peaceful tea village, visit the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views. Finally, become inspired by Sri Lankan flavours and learn from a local in your private cooking class. Taste the abundance of flavours from the typical curry and rice dishes we all love, made with fresh ingredients.
After your breakfast, we embark on a 1.5-hour journey to visit Lipton’s Seat, a peak offering sublime views of the rolling hills and Uva Province, where Sir Thomas Lipton supervised his empire. Here, we enter the Dambatenne Tea Factory, built by Lipton in 1890. To close a wonderful day trip, explore Adisham Bungalow, a British manor house, now transformed into a monastery.
After breakfast, we begin our 4-hour travel through winding hills and striking waterfalls to the Tea Trails region. On arrival, savour the flavours of Virgin White Tea – known to be one of the world’s most exclusive – and master the art of tea-making. Later, you’ll find yourself in Galle, surrounded by rich heritage and the iconic Galle Fort. Surrender to the buzz of the authentic streets, influenced by Dutch and British culture.
Unfortunately, after embarking on one of the world’s most revered tea tours, it’s time to go home. Proceed to the airport promptly, ready for your departure or extend your stay on the beautiful South Asian island.
